Energy Savings

As much as half of the energy used in your home or business goes to heating and cooling. So making smart decisions about your heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system can have a big effect on your utility bills — and your comfort.  Below is further information regarding how Lakeland can help you save money on your energy bills.

§        Old Equipment - If your HVAC equipment is more than 10 years old or not keeping your house or business comfortable, Energy Star recommends having it looked at by a professional HVAC contractor.  High-efficiency heating and cooling units can save up to 20 percent on heating and cooling costs.

§        Oversized Equipment - Getting the proper size and a quality installation is essential to getting the most from your new equipment. Oversized equipment can result in an uncomfortable environment and higher utility bills.  Lakeland’s expert staff provides you with custom estimates, geared toward your specific needs.

§        Programmable Thermostat - Through proper use of pre-programmed settings, a programmable thermostat can save you about $150 every year in energy costs.

§        Water Heaters - Water heating represents between thirteen and seventeen percent of residential energy consumption, making it the third largest energy end use.

§        Air Conditioning Equipment - SEER stands for Season Energy Efficiency Ratio and applies to central air conditioners. The higher the SEER, the greater the energy economy.

§        Heating Products - AFUE stands for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency and applies to heating products. The higher the AFUE, the greater the energy economy. HSPF stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor and measures heat pump efficiency. The higher the HSPF, the greater the energy economy.
